Biography

Dr. Michael Gurian is a marriage and family counselor in private practice and the New York Times bestselling author of twenty-eight books published in twenty-two languages. The Gurian Institute, which he co-founded, conducts research internationally, launches pilot programs, and trains professionals. As a social philosopher, Dr. Gurian has pioneered efforts to bring neuro-biology and brain research into homes, schools, corporations, and public policy. A number of his books have sparked national debate, including The Wonder of Boys, The Wonder of Girls, Boys and Girls Learn Differently!and Lessons of Lifelong Intimacy. Raising Boys by Design (with Gregory Jantz and Ann McMurray), reveals insights and strategies from both the Bible and brain science. His latest book, Saving Our Sons, provides a healthy new path for motivating our boys, protecting our children from neurotoxins, and guiding their technology and media use.

Dr. Gurian is a dynamic, warm, and humorous presenter. He provides keynotes and consulting throughout the world, and his work has been featured in nearly all professional journals and major media, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Catholic Magazine, Forbes Magazine, Time, Newsweek, Educational Leadership, Psychology Today, Family Therapy, The Today Show, The 700 Club, Good Morning America, CNN, PBS, and Fox News. He lives in Spokane, WA, with his wife, Gail, and they have two grown daughters.
